Student Insight Team Member
This opportunity is open to Cardiff Met Students only.
The Student Insight Team primarily exists to assist the Quality Enhancement Directorate with work that requires student involvement, or which would significantly benefit from having students involved. This role exists on an as-needed basis, and can fit around your studies – you can opt into the tasks you have time to take on.
You’ll contribute by:
- Taking part in quality assurance processes, like reading documentation about, and then reviewing, Cardiff Met’s degree programmes and ensuring they’re fit for purpose.
- Hosting focus groups or gathering student feedback in other ways.
- Helping analyse student feedback to find themes and interesting data.
- Helping with creative endeavours, such as designing posters or flyers, or taking photographs at events
- Assisting with any number of other tasks that might arise, from speaking at events or re-organising digital files or other ‘one-off’ jobs that may arise.
What you’ll bring
As a member of the Student Insight Team, you’ll utilise your unique understanding of the university to assist with a wide range of projects. The benefit of this role is that it’s flexible around your studies – you can opt into work when it’s available, and you can choose not to put yourself forward for tasks that you’re less interested in – but that does mean you’ll need to be independent enough to manage your time effectively.
You’ll need to be:
- comfortable communicating with members of University staff and fellow students alike.
- highly literate, with the ability to read, evaluate and review information like quality assurance documents.
- willing to attend training sessions in order to carry out the various roles of the team.
It would be a benefit if you were also:
- enthusiastic about learning how to present information sessions or hosting focus groups.
- comfortable with data analysis, or keen to learn the skills necessary.
- experienced with graphic design, photography, or other forms of creative/design work.
