You’ll join our Strength & Conditioning Team, working closely with your colleagues to grow the performance support provision, whilst also acting as physical performance lead for the Men’s rugby programme.

This project aligns with the Airbus Endeavr Wales challenge by addressing electromagnetic (EM) scattering and low-observability through the development of advanced conformal metasurface absorbers. The aim is to deliver a predictive computational experimental framework for accurate modelling and validation of scattering from aircraft-relevant geometries. The project will develop a Python-based modelling tool integrated with full-wave EM simulation (CST/COMSOL), alongside the design and fabrication of conformal metasurface absorbers with controlled reflection and absorption characteristics. Experimental validation will be conducted using multi-angle anechoic chamber measurements. The outcome will be a validated methodology capable of distinguishing intrinsic device behaviour from measurement artefacts, supporting reliable absorber performance prediction and enabling practical deployment in aerospace applications.

You’ll play a key role in leading the way by:

• Developing a computationally efficient modelling framework using Python-based tools to simulate electromagnetic scattering from complex conformal geometries, enabling rapid analysis and scalable integration with advanced EM solvers. 
• Contributing to the electromagnetic design and optimisation of arbitrary conformal metasurface structures using industry-standard simulation platforms such as CST Studio and/or COMSOL Multiphysics, followed by fabrication of demonstrator devices with controlled reflection-phase characteristics. 
• Coordinating the preparation and execution of bistatic, multi-angle measurement campaigns within anechoic chamber environments, replicating realistic aircraft inspection scenarios and ensuring robust experimental protocols. 
• Supporting the validation process by systematically comparing simulated and measured scattering responses, identifying discrepancies, and refining models to improve predictive accuracy. 
• Applying on uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, and methodological improvements to clearly distinguish intrinsic device-under-test (DUT) behaviour from measurement artefacts to ensure scientific rigour and reproducibility.

Customer support is a key element to the Library Service – ensuring all our students and staff get the help and support they need through a new Student Information Point. You will work alongside colleagues from other departments on a single point of contact desk. Away from the desk you will work a variety of tasks and projects which could include collection management, communications, user feedback or general library administration.

The role involves leading sessions, supporting assessments, maintaining safe practice, and contributing to an environment where every swimmer can progress confidently.

What you’ll do: 

• Plan and deliver engaging, safe and progressive swimming lessons across all programmes.
• Review and evaluate sessions to support continuous improvement.
• Lead lessons using clear teaching plans aligned to the programme framework.
