With around 10,000 students studying management programmes at our international TNE partners, the School makes a positive difference to the life chances of students and communities around the globe.</p><p>Cardiff School of Management&rsquo;s Department of Business, Management and Law is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Law with a strong criminology profile and a clear socio-legal and doctrinal focus. This is a strategically important appointment that will strengthen the Department&rsquo;s growing provision at the intersection of law, criminology, justice and public policy.</p><p>The Department delivers a range of highly successful law programmes, including the LLB (Hons), BA (Hons) Law and Criminology, BA (Hons) Business Law and Management, and a Foundation in Legal Studies pathway. In 2024, the Department launched the CSM Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, providing students with supervised opportunities to deliver legal advice and assistance in a real-world setting. Teaching across the Department prioritises employability, professional skills and personal development, while situating law firmly within its broader social, political and criminological contexts. This approach enables students to critically engage with law&rsquo;s role in shaping justice, inequality and social outcomes.</p><p>The successful candidate will be a criminology-informed legal scholar, able to contribute to undergraduate teaching across law and criminology programmes, with particular strength in areas that explore crime, justice and regulation from a legal perspective. They will be expected to support curriculum development, contribute to research and scholarship, and enhance the Department&rsquo;s applied and socially engaged teaching ethos.</p><p>The role holder will contribute to teaching across a range of undergraduate modules, with teaching and research interests aligned to one or more of the following areas:</p><ul><li>Punishment and Justice</li><li>Access to Justice</li><li>Criminal Justice and Legal Responses to Crime</li><li>Family Law and Social Justice</li><li>Alternative Dispute Resolution</li><li>Legal and Professional Skills</li><li>Terrorism, Radicalisation and Violence</li><li>International and Comparative Law and Systems</li><li>Supervision of final year dissertations or projects.</li></ul><p>This post offers an exciting opportunity for a criminology specialist with a strong legal foundation to shape an innovative, practice-focused curriculum and to contribute meaningfully to debates around law, crime and justice in society.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>You will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our taught portfolio contributing to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in our Law provision and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.             <p id="isPasted">We are looking to recruit a dedicated team-player to assist the Taught Programmes team in fulfilling its commitment to support every aspect of the student journey. Working as part of a team of administrators, this key role supports the Programme Directors, Year Tutors and Heads of Department with high level administrative support in the day-to-day delivery of programmes within the School. &nbsp;This post requires any individual with the ability to effectively co-ordinate the administration of programmes using influencing and negotiation skills to ensure the facilitation of a professional service to both staff and students. &nbsp;</p><p>You&rsquo;ll support: &nbsp;</p><ul><li>The student lifecycle, ensuring a high level of administrative support is provided at every stage of the students&rsquo; journey;</li><li>Academic and administrative colleagues across a range of departments to ensure that University policies and procedures are implemented effectively and efficiently.</li></ul><p>The post-holder will be required to work their contracted hours on campus.</p><p><br></p><p id="isPasted"><strong>What you&rsquo;ll bring:</strong></p><p>With superb communication skills and experience in the Higher Education Sector, you will be able to support students at every stage of their journey.
