Strength & Conditioning Coach - Men's Rugby

We work in partnership with a range of local, regional and national partners to develop and manage high quality sport facilities including, the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Tennis Centre and Archers Arena on our Cyncoed Campus along with a number of 21st Century Schools across the City.

We're looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead the development and delivery of strength and conditioning to the Men’s BUCS Super Rugby (MBSR) and the WRU Premiership teams. You’ll join our Strength & Conditioning Team, working closely with your colleagues to grow the performance support provision, whilst also acting as physical performance lead for the Men’s rugby programme. 

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Acting as a primary contact to understand and meet the needs of the relevant programmes;
  • Planning a comprehensive S&C provision for the Cardiff Met Men’s performance programme;
  • Delivering a detailed S&C provision, utilising the wider community of colleagues and students to supplement the delivery of services;
  • Ensuring all performance programme players are supported through a structured individualised physical preparation programmes;
  • Encouraging a proactive, robust and collaborative approach to physical preparation programming and clinic-based delivery throughout the season. 

 

What you’ll bring

  • An undergraduate degree in strength & conditioning and UKSCA membership;
  • Experience of working as a strength and conditioning coach within a rugby environment;
  • Experience of using diagnostic equipment and athlete programming and monitoring systems; 
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of customers, staff and stakeholders;
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to work as a team and take initiative when needed.
