            <p><strong>Start date: 14/09/2026</strong></p><p><br>Are you passionate about the Welsh language and want to help achieve the goal of a million speakers by 2050? We&rsquo;re looking for a Welsh for Adults and Language Skills Tutors to deliver Welsh for Adults programmes to staff and students, along with preparing students to undertake the Coleg Cymraeg&rsquo;s Welsh Language Skills Certificate. Based in Cardiff, tutors will work across both Llandaf and Cyncoed campuses to deliver courses from Entry to Proficiency level and will play a vital role in equipping students with Welsh language skills for the workplace. You will work as part of the University&rsquo;s Welsh Language Unit, which leads on the development and growth of Welsh medium provision and services for students, staff and the public across the University.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>You&rsquo;ll&nbsp;inspire and contribute by:</strong>  &nbsp;</p><ul type="disc"><li>Collaborating with other tutors to plan and deliver learn Welsh programmes to specific cohorts of students.&nbsp;</li><li>Developing staff and students&rsquo; Welsh language skills for use in the workplace and beyond. &nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to the Welsh Language Unit&rsquo;s programme of &lsquo;Informal Welsh&rsquo; learning events and participate in the team&rsquo;s ongoing professional development activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinating the Welsh Language Skills Certificate arrangements at the University: promoting the certificate, registering candidates, organising preparation sessions, organising oral assessments, written exams, etc. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll bring</strong> &nbsp;</p><ul type="disc"><li>Fluency in Welsh and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff and students. &nbsp;</li><li>Experience of teaching Welsh for adults programmes and supporting individuals in their Welsh language learning journey. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>A comprehensive knowledge of Welsh grammar. &nbsp;</li><li>Good IT skills, particularly in relation to the creation and delivery of teaching resources.&nbsp;</li><li>The ability to deliver Welsh for Adults programmes through e-learning methods.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Why join Cardiff Metropolitan University?</strong></p><p>We are a values-based University.             <p>We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the ambitions of the University&rsquo;s Strategic Plan 2030 by managing the University&rsquo;s Welsh language teaching function. This function aims to increase the Welsh language skills of staff and students and help ensure a workforce and student population that uses Welsh on a regular basis.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll lead the way by: &nbsp;</p><ul><li>being responsible for the strategic planning and academic delivery of the University&rsquo;s Welsh for Adults programmes for staff and students, ensuring high quality provision ranging from complete beginner programmes through to advanced programs</li><li>producing and delivering specialised, high-level and intensive Welsh language programmes for academic and professional service staff that already have a good level of Welsh language skills to enable them to work through the medium of Welsh</li><li>producing and delivering high level Welsh language academic support and language improvements programmes for students that already have a good level of Welsh language skills.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll bring&nbsp;</strong></p><p>With knowledge and experience of producing and delivering Welsh for adults programmes across many levels, you will bring your expertise in this field into a University that is committed to offering Welsh for Adults programmes to as many of its staff and students as possible.
