            <p id="isPasted">To support our Schools, we&rsquo;re looking for a Business Support Officer to deliver high-quality administrative and operational support across finance, procurement, and staff processes. This is a varied and fast-paced role where your work will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of key business functions, supporting both academic and professional services colleagues.</p><p>As the Business Support Officer, you&rsquo;ll play a vital role in managing financial transactions, coordinating travel and purchasing activities, and acting as a key point of contact for staff enquiries. Your ability to organise, analyse information, and provide clear guidance will help drive effective decision-making and support the wider objectives of the schools.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll support by:</p><ul><li>Managing finance, procurement, and administrative processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across systems.</li><li>Coordinating staff development and travel arrangements, including conferences and overseas visits, ensuring all processes are followed and documented.</li><li>Providing guidance on policies and procedures, supporting staff with finance, HR, and operational queries.</li><li>Monitoring and analysing financial information, supporting planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.</li><li>Supporting recruitment and onboarding of casual staff, including preparing documentation and job adverts.</li><li>Providing administrative and secretarial support to key committees, including health &amp; safety and Athena Swan, ensuring actions are tracked and delivered.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What you&#39;ll bring</strong></p><p id="isPasted">You&rsquo;ll bring administrative experience from a busy office environment, along with an understanding of finance and/or HR processes. You&rsquo;ll be organised, able to manage competing priorities, and maintain accuracy in your work.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll be confident working with data and Microsoft Office, using information to support planning and decision-making. You&rsquo;ll also be a clear communicator, able to respond to queries and work effectively with colleagues across teams.</p><p>Additionally, you&rsquo;ll:</p><ul><li>have strong attention to detail and a methodical approach</li><li>be able to manage deadlines and changing priorities</li><li>be confident providing clear, accurate advice</li><li>ideally have experience supporting meetings, including minute taking</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why join Cardiff Metropolitan University?</strong></p><p>We are a values-based University.
