Graduate Software Developer

Our Graduate Software Developers work in a busy development team that support the demands of the organisation. 

Under the guidance of more senior staff, the you will be responsible for the development of application systems projects and existing system development, from initial scope and requirements gathering, solution design and architecture through to full implementation and stakeholder acceptance. You will provide high quality, professional and responsive support for the university’s in-house, open source and bought-in information systems.

In the role you’ll use your coding experience with an Object Orientated programming language, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude to deliver excellent outcomes to stakeholders. 

What you’ll bring

 With a practical experience of successful software application development, you will work as part of an Agile development team, working with a variety of stakeholders from across the University to develop systems and services that support the University staff and students.

You will have a practical knowledge of secure programming techniques e.g. OWASP, both generally and for the adopted programming languages.

Additionally, you’ll have:

  • Ability to develop using CSS and HTML.
  • Ability to manage data using SQL
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills to meet, diverse and changing business requirements
  • A degree, HND or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.
