Corporate Receptionist

To ensure that our Estates teams continue to provide an excellent service to visitors, colleagues and students we’re looking for a Corporate Receptionist. As a Corporate Receptionist you will gain a detailed understanding of the University and use your excellent customer care skills to provide an efficient and timely service.

We are recruiting for two permanent, part-time positions:

  1. 22.5 hours Llandaff Campus 13:30 – 18:00 (Mon – Fri)
  2. 27.5 hours Cyncoed Campus 12:30 – 18:00 (Mon – Fri)

If you are successful in your application, you can be considered for both positions.

You’ll play a key role by:

  • Welcoming visitors to the campus, building an understanding of their needs and supporting their travel to destinations throughout our campuses.
  • Providing a superb switchboard service, responding to internal and external calls and providing support.
  • Assisting with events taking place on campus and supporting attendees.

What you’ll bring: 

With an excellent understanding of how to provide superb customer care and experience of working in a customer focused environment you’ll be able to support enquiries in a courteous, helpful and informed manner. You’ll use your telephone experience to answer calls on a busy computerised switchboard and transfer them to the appropriate department or individual.

Your outstanding organisational skills will be key to your success in this position as you’ll be able to support multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities whilst providing timely support. You’ll be confident in your Welsh language skills, able to communicate in a professional manner and support service users with their queries.

Additionally, you’ll have:

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Clear communication skills written, over the telephone and in-person, able to interact with and manage the expectations of a variety of service users.
  • Brilliant team working skills, able to communicate with priorities with colleagues and work as a cohesive team to provide a fantastic service.
