Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Branch Officer
Are you passionate about the Welsh language and want to work on its behalf? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Branch Officer to champion Welsh-medium provision at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Based in Cardiff, with the flexibility of hybrid working, this role is at the heart of our efforts to support the growth of the Welsh medium provision. You will play a key role in fostering collaboration across departments, driving exciting initiatives, and promoting the value of Welsh-medium education to staff and students alike. You will work as part of the University’s Welsh Language Unit and with colleagues across Cardiff Met that support Welsh medium education. You will also part of the Coleg Cymraeg’s national network or Branch Officers which has an officer in every University across Wales.
You’ll inspire and contribute by:
- Coordinating the development and promotion of Welsh-medium provision across the University.
- Acting as the main link between the University and the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, driving impactful projects and initiatives.
- Supporting Welsh-medium projects by coordinating applications, budgets, and reporting.
- Using data analysis to identify opportunities for Welsh-medium provision, supporting action plans across schools.
- Promoting Welsh-medium courses at recruitment events and leading engagement activities for students, including social events.
- Administering the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Welsh Language Skills Certificate within the University.

What you’ll bring
- Fluency in Welsh and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with stakeholders at all levels.
- A creative, solution-oriented mindset and strong organisational skills to balance competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in IT and multimedia platforms, including social media.
- A good honours degree or equivalent professional qualification.
