Technician Demonstrator Woodworking Practices
We are looking for a Technician Demonstrator with an expertise in skilled and creative applications of woodwork to complement our excellent technical provision.
The technical team, and the workshops, studios and resources they manage are key to CSAD’s student experience. The technical team manages CSAD’s technical provision, deploying the School’s equipment and space in a system that ensures fairness and enhances safety, whilst promoting creativity, student-centred learning and initiative.
You will have a broad range of wood working skills, applying these in making creative works or bespoke functional objects. You'll have experience in using a range of power and hand tools and of supervising, running or overseeing workshop activities.

You’ll lead the way by:
- Supervising creative processes and practices to facilitate student learning.
- Demonstrating techniques and processes.
- Coordinating requirements and purchasing materials and equipment.
- Developing own skills and knowledge to support the student experience.
- Ensuring safe practice through implementation of the School’s Health and Safety policy.

- Demonstrable technical / specialist skills in a relevant discipline.
- Hands-on studio experience – You can confidently deliver workshops and have relevant, recognised experience in a studio or workshop setting.
- Clear communication skills – You can explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to support students and colleagues.
- Team-oriented approach – You work well with others, meet deadlines, and contribute to shared goals.
- Commitment to safety – You understand and apply health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment, and will be willing to undertake training and development to implement best practice
